Game Concept
The game „Space Pirates“ was a second semester 3D game project, and it consisted of 3 fractions. Each fraction was constructed of a group and I was part of the „Steampunk Japan“ group, we wanted to create something with the steampunk aesthetic but with addition of the Japanese culture.
The Flying Craine

[The Flying Craine] is the spacecraft of this fraction. It’s based on origami paper cranes and ancient Japanese trading ships. I decided to give it a solar sail since this fraction has little means and needs to be as resourceful as possible.

This is a concept of the end of one of the halls. The must haves here were the fire extinguisher, first-aid-box and the camera (golden circular ornament in the middle). The furniture and feel of the environment is based on ancient Asia but things such as material were made up on the steampunk aspect of it.
In the picture below you can see the concept of the entrance hall with the elevator. Our story was set during a festival which is why there are lanterns hanging from the wall. The paintings and vase are based on traditional Asian ink paintings and ceramic art. Even here you can see the steampunk core of the fraction, the ceiling is propped with metal pipes, and the elevator door and frame is made from brass.
